Damien Hirst’s Ellipticine is part of his acclaimed "Pharmaceutical" series, in which he explores the intersections of art, science, and human perception. Rendered in vivid color through silkscreen printing, Ellipticine is named after an anti-cancer drug, echoing Hirst’s fascination with medical aesthetics and their impact on contemporary life.
With its precision and bold palette, the print evokes themes of mortality, healing, and the commodification of health. Like much of Hirst’s work, it balances minimalist visual structure with deeper existential commentary. Ellipticine is a striking example of his iconic use of dots — a motif synonymous with his career.

Condition Report
Grade: Very Good
The print presents very well and retains its full vibrancy. We note the following minor details:
Surface: There are microscopic instances of surface accretion (staining). These appear to be surface-level and likely removable by a professional conservator.
Abrasion: A singular, small superficial scratch is present. This is not immediately apparent to the naked eye and is visible only under raking light.
An excellent opportunity to own a piece by one of the most influential artists of the Young British Artists (YBA) movement.
