Emma Godebska 是一位法國抽象藝術家，目前居住並工作於法國尼姆。

教育背景

她在倫敦受教育，曾於 Sir John Cass 藝術學院學習應用藝術與珠寶設計，Godebska 早期接觸父親的繪畫與雕塑材料，培養了對質感、印記、透明度與色彩的迷戀。

技法

Godebska 使用反映自然本身的天然顏料，與稀釋的壓克力顏料及無編排的儀式性動作表現形成對話。她形容自己的過程如視覺太極，尋求內心平靜。調色是冥想且有條理的。花數小時調配合適的顏色對應某種感覺或情緒。Joan Mitchell 也談過繪畫感覺，並於 1986 年告訴 Yves Michaud：「繪畫是感受‘活著’的方式。」...

設計一種能達到透明與不透明之間恰當平衡的矽膠工具，也是她定制且個人化過程的一部分。對比元素間的平衡哲學呼應道家教義。這些元素包括透明與不透明、明與暗、暖與涼、有意識的分析決策與無意識的自發動作。

她的藍色潟湖時期持續了一年。現在的氛圍柔和溫暖：黃色和大地色調，並透過實驗導向更大型的裝置和更大膽的色彩筆觸，需要更多身體能量和精神表現。位於法國尼姆的 Théâtre Périscope 裝置代表了這種方法的早期版本。

Godebska 捕捉記憶的本質。

Joan Mitchell 在 1965 年接受 Dorothy Seckler 採訪時解釋說：「如果我有某種感覺，可能是我感覺自己像是綠色的，或是某個被記憶的風景之類的。那是我看著橋或河流或其他什麼時的感覺。」Mitchell 在法國 Vétheuil 的 La Tour 產業擁有與莫內啟發同一風景。...

相較之下，Godeska 傳達出第九街新抽象表現主義的氛圍，只是更具禪意。
