The project was a centerpiece of the International Contemporary Art Fair, merging high-performance automotive engineering with the principles of geometric abstraction and kinetic art.
Artistic Vision & Technique
Ghetti applied her signature "cinetismo" (kineticism) to the vehicle's body, utilizing a sequence of horizontal stripes in gold, and white. This optical pattern is designed to interact with the car's sleek, aerodynamic curves, creating a "visual vibration" that simulates movement even when the vehicle is stationary.
By deconstructing the car's surface into rhythmic color fields, Ghetti transforms the industrial object into an immersive sculptural piece. The choice of metallic and white tones resonates with the light and energy of the Caribbean setting while highlighting the "Next Chapter" design language of the Lexus electric fleet.
Context & Significance
The work was presented as part of a broader cultural moment for the artist in the Dominican Republic, coinciding with her exhibition "Entre Movimientos" at the ASR Gallery. The collaboration illustrates the intersection of sustainability and art, using the electric RZ 450e as a canvas to explore the phenomenology of light and perception. It serves as a prime example of how abstract art can be utilized for corporate branding and high-profile product launches to create a unique, emotionally resonant physical identity.
