Jeremy Annear é um pintor inglês que foi apresentado ao modernismo de St Ives em seus primeiros anos de formação. Ele vive e trabalha na Cornualha.

Educação

Annear estudou Pintura em Artes Plásticas e Gravura no Exeter College of Art no final dos anos sessenta.

Técnica

Anear trabalha principalmente com óleo sobre madeira e tela. As formas, cores e volumes são construídos em camadas em relevo, resultando em texturas, superfícies e bordas atraentes.

"Eu constantemente brinco de aplicar tinta sobre tinta, molhado sobre molhado. Sempre quis jogar muita tinta sobre meus suportes. Parte da satisfação mais profunda de pintar para mim tem sido alcançar exatamente o que quero com a tinta."

Inspiração

Jeremy Annear foi exposto como um jovem artista ao grupo de St Ives e foi influenciado pelo trabalho de Ben Nicholson, Barbara Hepworth, Roger Hilton e Terry Frost. Suas pinturas compartilham afinidades com modernistas europeus como Braque, Picasso e Miro. As pinturas abstratas de Jeremy reagem à geometria natural e às transformações de sua amada paisagem cornualha. Ele também trabalhou extensivamente na Alemanha e na Austrália e absorveu influências em seu trabalho de ambas as culturas.
