Anya Spielmanはアメリカの抽象画家です。彼女の作品は二元的な力と形の星座を探求し、繰り返される二重のイメージを提示します:知ることと知らないこと、見られることと見られないこと、人間性と非人間性の間の緊張です。彼女はロサンゼルス地域に住み、制作しています。

教育

Anya Spielmanはカリフォルニア大学デービス校で学び、1989年にアートスタジオを専攻し人類学を副専攻として学士号を取得しました。彼女はWayne Thiebaudの教え子であり、卒業後も彼の指導を受け続けました。

技法

Spielmanはキャンバス、紙、パネルに油彩を用い、さまざまなサイズで制作します。彼女は同時に最大40点の絵画に取り組み、それぞれが形を成し始めると行き来し、作品を完成に導くために一つに集中します。彼女の飽和した表面は光を放ち、光沢とマットの層が交互に重なっていますが、粗い爪の跡が作品に傷をつけ、解体しています。これらの刻まれた線や跡はイメージやアイデアに関連し、多くの場合、作品の基礎構造、潜在的な言語となっています。彼女の赤やピンクの使用は肉体や血を連想させ、パレットの淡いクリーム色、黄色、青はしばしば体液や生命の鼓動を思い起こさせます。

インスピレーション

表面の下に何があるのかという好奇心から、Spielmanは最初に死体からのドローイングを始めました。形の基層を概念化する中で、解剖のプロセスが絵画のプロセスと結びついていることが明らかになりました。画家の中の画家である彼女は、絵を描く行為の身体性、飽和した色彩の強度、人間の動機に魅了されています。
