Kyong Lee 是一位韩国抽象艺术家,她的作品通过对色彩、材料、工艺和形式的多学科探索,调和了物理与情感的现实。她现居并工作于韩国首尔。

教育背景

Lee 于1991年在韩国首尔的弘益大学获得文学学士学位。2000年,她在德国布伦瑞克美术大学获得硕士学位。
2001年至2002年,她曾是国际知名的 SSamzieSpace 工作室驻地艺术家,驻地项目位于韩国首尔。

技法

Lee 致力于工艺的精准。她细致地规划色彩选择,并为每种颜色的调配投入固定时间。为了创作渐变色画作,她首先在表面上分层粘贴胶带条。每层油漆在固定时间内涂抹,并允许静置另一固定时间。这是一个逐层叠加、积累的过程。渐变色表达了颜色与时刻之间的关系。她的一些作品包含文字。对于这些作品,Lee 先将她为作品选定的词语压印在表面,然后涂抹与所选词语相关联并协作的单色调色彩。颜色占据词语并填满其周围所有空间。对 Lee 来说,过程具有诗意,是作品意义的核心。

灵感

在她的作品中,Lee 反映了她在物理环境中的情感体验。色彩是她的主要视觉语言。对她而言,色彩不仅是自我指涉的,也与情感状态相关。它是表达感受、投射思想和唤起生命自然过程的方式。Lee 的灵感来自时间的流逝和经验的叠加。她沉思记忆以及随着时间积累她对过去的视角如何变化。她也对自动主义感兴趣。通过无意识的过程,她在不同的交流方式之间建立了联系,例如在她的Color as Adjective系列中,将特定词语与特定色调关联。此外,Lee 关注地球轴的倾斜。地球倾斜23.5度,这一条件导致我们体验季节的方式。Lee 想知道这里是否存在关联,介于我们错误地假设自己是水平站立的,以及我们所做的其他假设,比如她所说的“情感的地平线”。
