內山在阿爾奇斯紙上使用水彩,在畫布和亞麻布上使用油畫。她同時發展多個圖像。每件作品的開始,她都會等待在空白表面上“看到”一種初始顏色,然後再將其應用到她的底面上。每一種後續顏色都基於那個原始衝動,創造出由顏色形狀組成的網格。每一層都擁有獨特的物理和材料特性:有些是不透明的;有些是半透明的;有些是具畫意的;有些則是平面的。藝術家所做的每一個選擇都旨在創造一個動態的、多面向的構圖,邀請觀眾的目光隨著她的作品移動,體驗畫作的創作過程。
