Peerna 于2005年获得纽约州立大学新帕尔茨分校(SUNY)的艺术硕士学位。她于1998年完成芬兰赫尔辛基艺术设计大学的研究员项目,并于1995年获得爱沙尼亚塔林大学的硕士学位。

技法

在 Peerna 的工作室创作中,她利用身体的动作模拟自然力量,如落水、风、重力和动量。她将一张迈拉薄膜固定在板上,然后双手各握一把铅笔。将铅笔尖触碰迈拉薄膜后,她执行一个流畅的全身动作,将铅笔沿表面移动,模仿瀑布或风暴潮等自然现象的运动。在这一动作中,Peerna 的身体如同释放的水流。铅笔是她身体动作的延伸,留在表面的图像是这一独特自然事件的即时记录。

在工作室外,Peerna 有时与音乐家、舞者及其他艺术家合作,在铺展于地面或悬挂于天花板的迈拉薄膜上进行绘画。她将铅笔连接到迈拉表面,然后在表面上移动,创造出记录她与合作伙伴互动时直觉动作的痕迹。

"我创作绘画和装置。我的元素是线条和光;我的材料是铅笔、羊皮纸和身体的运动。我是一个容器,收集自然中细微而狂喜的过程,利用这些体验和冲动创作作品。我记录雾气变成水的过程。我让风推动我的身体,使其在纸上留下痕迹。我穿越成千上万层灰色空气,并记录每一层。我的大部分作品诞生于工作室的孤独中。有时与音乐家和舞者的公开表演将我从安全的寂静空间中带出,拓展了我的绘画实践。我对无尽的生成过程感兴趣,没有故事,没有开始,没有结束——只有流动中的当下。"
