教育

技术

在美学上,她希望画作看起来像是“刚刚发生”的,并以一种使笔触消失、层次变得不可察觉的方式进行绘画。她有强烈的倾向去创造看起来直觉和轻松的作品。她更喜欢油漆尽可能薄,同时仍然保持颜色,以便它所处的白色表面的光线能够渗透并增强颜色。她深思熟虑地对比颜色,尽量使用最少的油漆来达到所需的效果——不多,也不少。结构、形式、颜色和形状在杰西卡的创作中都是基本要素——她将俏皮的曲线、几何和线性形状与明亮的颜色结合在一起。然而,颜色在她的作品中并不是任意的;它们具有视觉的重量、沉重感或轻盈感,在进行初步绘图后,她试图让颜色在视觉上与她所工作的单色绘图产生相同的效果。

在巴黎学习期间,去博物馆对她理解绘画语言、每位艺术家的语法特性帮助很大。她在塞尚、马奈、马蒂斯和梵高的画作前花费了无数小时。她的视觉艺术影响包括索菲·泰伯-阿尔普、索尔·勒维特、卢西奥·丰塔纳和埃尔斯沃斯·凯利。为了寻找灵感,这位画家多次前往伦敦、阿姆斯特丹、马德里、柏林和佛罗伦萨,在那里她被弗拉·安杰利科的圣马可壁画所吸引。现在,居住在旧金山的她,最常前往洛杉矶或纽约市欣赏艺术。
